Here are some common Questions and Answers. If you stll have other quesitons or concerns please feel free to contact us. Q: How do I schedule my spray tanning appointment? A: Its easy; simply make an appointment by using our 24/7 online booking service or by calling us at 630-440-2672. Our staff will make sure you get all the information you need to ensure you obtain the optimum tanning result. We are at your service 7 days a week, though we stop taking appointments at 8:30 pm. Before your scheduled session make sure to read our Tips for Your Tanning Session section. Q: Will it be messsy in my home? A: No. We provide an 8 foot portable booth to place anywere in the home and our equipment produces a very concentrated tan with limited overspray.Q: How do you prepare? A: Our technician will ask you to remove all jewelry and you are invited to be as modest as you choose. Swimwear is the most popular choice and we can also provide you with disposable wear for an extra cost. The technician will help you to place a shower cap over your hair. Important: Do not touch yourself for the first 60 minutes after applying the spray tan. Q: In general how does spray tanning work? A: The key ingredient is DHA (Dihydroxyacetone), a sugar based derivative which reacts with the keratin proteins in the surface (dead) layers of your skin, producing a bronzed glow. When sprayed on the skin, it activates itself through your body's temperature by opening the pores and absorbs into the skin. Then, a chemical reaction takes place with your skin's amino acids, creating a natural looking bronze on the skin's surface. Spray tanning solutions rely on the effects of a natural chemical reaction, not solar rays, to produce a bronzed appearance. Thus your skin is salvaged from the harmful effects of UVA and UVB exposure. Q: How does your spray tanning system work? A: Our tanning solution is professionally applied in the privacy of your own home or in our studio by a certified Shoreline Glow technician. This process takes about 10 - 15 minutes. You will experience an immediate natural looking tan that will continue to develop over the next 6 to 12 hours. Q: Are tanning solutions safe to use? A: DHA has been approved by the FDA for cosmetic applications and it has been used for over 30 years without any harmful effects. Our tanning solution is regarded the world over as one of the finest. Our product contains no alcohol, oils, perfumes or potentially harmful chemicals or preservatives.NOTE: IF YOU ARE PREGNANT, CONSULT YOUR PHYSICIAN PRIOR TO YOUR TANNING SESSION AND BRING WRITTEN PERMISSION FROM YOUR PHYSICIAN TO HAVE ON FILE. Q: How about allergies? A: If you feel you have a highly sensitive skin, or you have any doubts, we recommend a small localized test spray to check your skin compatibility 24 hours before having a full body spray tan.Note: even with a doctors note, if you are pregnant we will require a patch test 24 hours before any spray tanning session. Schedule your patch test here. Q: How good are the results? A: Our solution gives you a long lasting and impressive, natural looking tan. We believe in our product because in many cases, the result can be superior to sun and tanning bed exposure.Q: How long will my spray tan last and how do I protect it? A: Depending on your activity level, skin type and preparation, your tan should last 7-10 days. For the first 10 or 12 hours after your spray tan is applied, do not shower or swim. Do not apply perfume or engage in vigorous activities. Avoid getting wet from rain; raindrops on newly sprayed skin will result in spotting. Remember that regular moisturizing will extend the tans life and with follow-up applications, you can maintain your tan indefinitely. You can also use our special Body Custard - Bronzing Moisturizer color extender after your first shower to lock in the DHA color and then every morning and evening to extend the life of your tan.Schedule your tanning session today!!!
Follow these steps to ensure the very best results. Before Tanning Session Checklist:Fresh shower Exfoliate your skin (dont use exfoliation scrubs that may contain oils) pay particular attention to elbows, ankles, knees and top of hands and feet. Refrain from eyelash tinting 12 hrs before as it may react with the solution No deodorant or perfume No lotions or moisturizers No make-up or Jewlery It is best to shave/wax at least 8 hours before tanning! Manicures, pedicures and/or facials are best done 24hrs prior to your tanning session Wear an old bathing suit or old dark under garments. Wear dark loose clothes (no jeans) and flip flops. Long hair should be pinned up Bring old towel to sit on in your car after tanning session Cash accepted onlyWe can provide you with disposable attire for an extra cost.
